Fall/Winter Events
Career Expo
Inspire the next generation by showcasing your career!
The Career Expo introduces LYTE scholars to diverse career paths through interactive experiences. Volunteers can lead a hands-on workshop, host a table at the Career Fair, or do both. We encourage activities that go beyond presentations—like mock trials, stock market simulations, or mental health training—that give students a real look into your field.
Practice Interview Night (Summer Jobs & Internships Interviews)
As a volunteer, you will meet one-on-one with LYTE scholars to help them strengthen their interview skills. Our 8th graders prepare for high school and scholarship interviews, while our high school juniors and seniors practice for college, honors, and summer program interviews. Any and all volunteers are welcome to sign up—no experience is required.

“Careers in Action” Project Presentations
Be part of an inspiring event where LYTE high school students present solutions to real-world community, local, and global issues. As a volunteer judge, you’ll listen to student pitches, offer feedback, and help recognize their hard work. Your perspective gives scholars valuable insight into how their ideas connect to professional fields and prepares them for future careers.
Summer Events
LYTE Graduation Ceremony
Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our LYTE seniors! At our annual Graduation Ceremony, students celebrate their achievements and reveal where they’ll be heading off to college in the fall.
Middle School Project Showcase & Step-Up Ceremony
Celebrate our 8th graders as they “step up” to high school! Each summer, our middle school scholars share career-focused projects through posterboards and presentations, highlighting their future career goals. This event is both a celebration of their hard work and a milestone as they take their next steps as high school students.
Middle School Career Day
Middle School Career Day gives LYTE middle schoolers the chance to hear directly from professionals across a variety of fields. Through conversations and short workshops, students learn about different career paths, what those jobs are really like, and the steps it takes to get there.
